In room event - central London - next week ! Occupational road risk

Post by Mrs Marple »

The local safety group I chair are looking to expand its membership so we have a number of complimentary tickets available so you can come along and see what we are all about (think - the Carlsberg of safety groups!) . We have no airs or graces - all we want is to help you to improve safety in your workplace. We don't care if you have fellowship status or are the janitor - all you need is a desire to make a difference. I discovered the group when I was studying my NEBOSH Dip and it really helped me to put some practical thoughst around topics.
If you'd like to go either drop me a message or have a look at us on LInkedin , Alex and Jack will vouch that I am not a random weirdo ( well not in a bad way!) . If you want to pay £15 you can always click on the link instead ! .scratch

Managing Occupational Road Risk - It's more than Buses and LGV's!

Join us for an exciting in-person event at Africa House! Are you aware of the risks your employees face on the road? This event is here to enlighten you about the importance of managing occupational road risk beyond just buses and LGVs. Our experts will share valuable insights, strategies, and best practices to ensure the safety of your workforce. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your knowledge and protect your employees. Register now to secure your spot!

Occupational Road Risk is wider than a lorry or tanker driver. If you are commuting to more than one location, dropping off parts on the way home, giving your colleague a lift to a training course, involved in a logistics supply chain, have sales staff, visiting care workers , sending maintenance staff out to locations……….. this affects YOU

A company’s legal and moral responsibilities don’t stop at the front door. If you have people driving for work within your organisation are you confident that the systems and controls you apply to your everyday workplace also apply to those that are using the road as their workplace ?

Over 50% of the vehicles on the road are being used for work. More workers are killed on UK roads than in RIDDOR accidents. A workplace road death is not included in the HSE figures for work related deaths, yet your company could still be prosecuted for your failure to protect your employee and others affected by their actions on the road.

When you consider due diligence for what happens within your four walls are you also including how you comply when your employees drive on the road? With the increase in employees taking on extra roles, hybrid working across various locations, and the increase in delivery services , the need to consider the implications an requirements is growing by the day.

You have a huge opportunity to save lives and reduce injuries , so come along to this event and help make Britain’s roads (and forgotten workplaces) a safer place to be for everyone. During the event Mark Cartwright will cover the key road safety factors that organisations miss in their blind spot , what they need to turn their headlights on and where they might need to do an emergency stop!

Mark Cartwright is our guest speaker for this event. Mark is the Head of Commercial Vehicle Incident Prevention at National Highways , he is also a key player in Driving for Better Business https://www.drivingforbetterbusiness.com

Previously Mark had over 30 years of experience at the Freight Trade Association. This wealth of experience will be shared to help you identify improvement opportunities regardless of whether you are riding a unicycle or a 16 wheeler !

Tea and Coffee from 1:30, please be at the venue by 1:55 as you will need to be escorted to the meeting room.
