IOSH CPD Webinar - Is your PPE compatible?

Post by Jack Kane »

On Tuesday, 4 July 2023 at 13:00 BST, IOSH magazine will host a one-hour webinar in partnership with 3M.

Compatibility is achieved when items of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), worn simultaneously, do not compromise the fit of one another when protecting the wearer, and thus provide effective protection for the full working shift. In many workplaces, there is a requirement to wear more than one item of PPE, such as a hard hat, ear defenders, protective eyewear and a respirator.

Incompatible PPE may result in a reduced level of protection, from one or more items worn, or even no protection at all. Compatible PPE should be selected and worn in a way that no one item compromises the ability of another to protect the wearer. How can this be achieved? How do you know if protection is compromised?

In this webinar, Tracey Winspear, 3M Application Engineer Specialist in Powered and Supplied air, will guide you through the legal requirements, risks associated with incompatible PPE, considerations for product selection, fit testing requirements (respiratory, hearing and eyewear), and ultimately the benefits that PPE compatibility can bring to the workplace.

If you are unable to attend the event, register in advance to view the free on-demand recording as soon as it becomes available.

Came across this post and the recording is still available to view via the link, so bringing this back for anyone who hasn't yet seen it.
You are only a millimetre or a millisecond away from the next incident.
