Thanks Alexis, looks like I'll be trying to get a refund as Hatton aren't taking on the Fire Diploma course.

Just noticed that myself. So sorry Adam. Hope the refund happens quickly for you.

Reading on various forums there is a lot of people questioning their membership with IOSH. Now there is always two parts to every story but I for one have been questioning my membership with IOSH for several years but have stayed as business have heard of IOSH and a lot of job adverts state must be member of IOSH.

I was so proud when I achieved CMIOSH it seemed to me I had finally made it and the hard work had finally paid off, now I tend not to tell people I'm a member.

So what's gone wrong and why are people feeling like this?

This is not a post to slag off IOSH so any replies be mindful of their Code of Conduct but at present I'm feeling this is the final straw for me with them. The NCRQ was a really good route for people to go down, they were recommended by IOSH and moved away from the old NEBOSH stuck in mud approach (I know that their approach is changing). All of those who I have worked with who have done the qualifications (various different levels of the courses) have praised the course content, the support and approach. Lets hope the new provider will keep up the good work and also find a solution for those who have signed up for the fire diploma.

Does anyone know the details of the copyright issue that IOSH an NCRQ have been is dispute over?

Its so easy to blame IOSH for wanting their legals fees covered, but if they won the challenge, why wouldn't they? As is always the case, the devil is in the details.

There is quite a bit of unhappy past buffeting between the two bodies, one of which was case number IL-2022-000030, in the High Court of Justice of England and Wales regarding competition.

This one was settled by IOSH allowing accreditation of NCRQ's Diploma.
"damages action brought under section 47A of the Competition Act, including an application for an interim injunction and an injunction."

As mentioned above, lots in the background that we don't know. Of course, I suppose it is all there in the internet, should anyone wish to access the detail.

I personally think it is very sad, that NCRQ had to end this way, albeit Hatten has taken most of it on board with the same CEO as had been in NCRQ.

The worst bit is the backlash from the fallout, which the Students now have to suffer and "pay the price" (pun intended) ultimately! :(

At the moment no-one knows Ewan. :(

The statement from Hatten has also been taken down.

If anyone has any handle on the situation for Students, could they please let us know. .salut

Don't know if it's the same for you Alexis, but for me the whole Hatten website is down. It's all very mysterious

No, it's for everyone. It had a 'site under maintenance' message for a short while, and now it simply cannot be reached.

I'm assuming that someone has taken the money and run.
