Light pollution is the bane of the king of sciences (astronomy) so if you are putting up LED lights, please follow the example of the wonderful Canary Islands and fit bulbs with a colour temperature of 2700 K or less.... it looks quite white but has a much reduced amount of blue light.
Blue light is scattered well by the atmosphere (that's why the sky looks blue when it's not cloudy) and cool or daylight white LEDS are turining our night sky into a daytime sky, mucking up the routines of the wildlife, and preventing us from seeing the wonders of the night sky. Please go for ultra warm LED bulbs when putting up lights around your house or factory. It would also be very helpful if lights were not pointed into the sky in order to light up the far end of a yard or the full height of a wall.
