An interesting thread for me currently.
A bit of background. I compeleted the NGC a couple of years back and am currently a facilities manager. I am currently completing the fire cert but come September my employer is sending me to university to complete my Chartered Surveying degree, a fantasic opertunity. I believe they want me to specialise in fire safety and be the go to person for any queries in the business when it comes to fire related questions so any help you guys can give me along the way would be great. I will print off BS 9999 and have a look over ADB but if there are any books that anyone can recommend for me to purchase so I can learn along the way then please let me know. I understand currently I dont have the techincal knoweldege but I am hoping to build on my experience as my course progresses and be out and about with other memebrs of the team to increase my experience.

Re: RMS PUBLICATION
I'd hold off printing BS 9999 as its quite a large book, view it on a computer if you have a copy, it's much easier to navigate as well and search for topics etc. Same goes for Approved Doc B.
Like I said previously I currently use 'Introduction to fire safety management' which is pretty good but I know there is 'Fire Safety and Risk Management: for the NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management' book which is from the FPA, which no doubt will be pretty good as well.
If you like I could send you through the questions I sent Lex and you could have a go at answering them, I know it helped me learn and remember key topics.
Let me know and I'll send them you.

Hi Rocketman,
Yes if you can send over any questions that would be great. I have the course material as well which should get me through the cert at least.
Thanks,
Steve.

Got an email earlier from RRC offering any of the NEBOSH certificates at 30% and the option to pay over 12 months.
There's the link in case you are interested: http://www.rrc.co.uk/offers/summer-madness.aspx

Lex,
You could also try and do what I did, I went back to my original provider who I did my NCG with. If you are within 5 years of doing that you only have to complete FC1 and FC2. I managed to get this course booked and sorted for £300 and then they took 10% of as a returning customer so it only cost my company £270.

Re: RMS PUBLICATION
That was originally an option however my course only offer the fire course via classroom course. Which is much more costly nor does it fit in wih my lifestyle
