I should know better.......13 years in a tin pot punk band with 24 years of going to gigs............already have lost some hearing in my right ear and have a suspicious case of Tinnitus in the left.............
So what did I do this weekend ????

Worked a Beer Festival (great fun, free beer!!) forgot my ear plugs, so was subjected to 8+ hours of some very loud music, left ear has not stop vibrating and ringing and humming since Saturday. It's also very sound sensitive

Mel Gt, Hopefully its just an acute thing and your ears are just getting back to normal. I know when i use to Dj this happened and a few days later i was back to normal.. I only Djed for 4 years thou

Cheers Njil, have had tinnitus in it for around 4 years now but think I have just aggravated it to another level, will find out tonight eh.......

I do hope your Doctor can offer something to help Mel.

I think loads of people are going to have this problem in the years to come. Every other person we see nowadays has some sort of connection plugged into their ears and most probably far too loud. Maybe time we all started to learn sign language.

I agree Alexis - i think this is going to be a massive concern and shock in 20, 30 years time and i can see tough control put in place for volume limits etc on headphones, earphones and alike.

One of the machinist at my old apprenticeship use to put his earphones in to drowned out the noise from the machine

Well Drs.....ears came back clear ??! has left me confused as they are STILL ringing to h*ll, head still feels like its in a goldfish bowl on the left..........so they are sending me for blood tests on Monday......
got them to check my painful bigtoe out whilst I was there, looks like I may have Arthritis x-ray as well on Monday to confirm !!! I'm only 39 !!!!!!

For goodness sake Mel!! I hope you don't have arthritis and it is just something simple.

My thoughts:

Could your toe be due to big shoes?
Could your ringing ears be due to sinus trouble, even hay fever?

Whatever is wrong, I really do hope they get to the bottom of it all and fix you very soon.

nope def in the joint of my big toe, had it for a few years now, always wear sensible shoes (never been one for heels etc), joint locks and its excruciating to 'click' it back has spread the the ball joint and the toe next to it over the last few months and can be quite painful to walk on at times, even lying in bed can be sore
Ears have rung ever since a certain gig around 5 years ago so am used to it but the extra layer of humming and more ringing from the event last week is getting a bit wearing, hopefully the bloods show up something but will be pursuing.........

But thank you Keith and Alexis for your thoughts all this is in readyness for my 40th in 6 months

My mother had something similar in her ears, it was due to bones in the inner ear wearing out, they replaced them and an ear drum and she could hear better than she ever did in her life, although the recovery was particularly nauseous as the room kept spinning and no walking for 3 - 4 days as she had no sense of balance and kept being sick
