Im sure the more able amongst us could run or cycle a bit more than a mile and those slightly less able could walk as far as they felt able to. I think this one could be a runner(no pun intended)

I agree - it would be fun - we just need to find out where everyone (that is willing to take part) is!PaulDonaldson wrote:Lisa

Re: An HSFB Charity Event?
Is there anything where we could all log our approximate location? I'm sure we could then find the furthest North, the furthest South and then join them up in the middle! maybe if Jack could get the postcode of everyone that is interested? I think it important that we don't make a big deal about the distance that individuals do or don't do after all there could be many ways to show support. If people are doing fairly lengthy runs or rides then people may be required to pick them up and drop them off at places which would all be supporting the cause?
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?

Keith, Jack will certainly be looking at ways to collate information I am sure and to join up England with Scotland at the borders, I would be prepared to meet and follow on from there.
We could get companies to sponsor us.
Keep the suggestions coming in here for the time being. Looking forward to this.

We could maybe even have our check-ins in the various fire stations around the UK. In fact, I wouldn't mind taking a turn at being the dummy in the fire-mans lift section.

It would be logical to have handing over points and any emergency service building (and for that I include the coastguard not the AA). I think it would help to raise our profile a lot as well(plus we could get them to help with sponsorship).
I see this being a truly magnificent event that will raise our profile hugely in the UK, so well done Keith.
I know Alexis had a silly suggestion about the firemans lift thing but mine is even sillier, what about approaching the Daily Mail for sponsorship

Re: An HSFB Charity Event?
It would be good to tie it in with a major event, something relating to HSE. Worker's Memorial Day? World Safety Day? Families Against Corporate Killers? There's others. Does it need to be done in a day?
I'd like to decide what charity(s) we would be raising money for. It helps get people motivated.
