Anyone else done/doing the PgC in OHS Management? I'm at the beginning (studying via distance learning at Portsmouth Uni) and wondering if I've bitten off more than I can chew!

Thanks! He's my tutor! Guess I really should ring him.

I'm revising for my first exam (HS1) and there's just sooooooo much to cram into my poor brain!

Oh well, nose back to grindstone....

A word of encouragement. I have completed the MSc, graduating in July. Beleive me I'm no Einstein, the courses recognises that.
Keep talking to Chris and the rest of the tutors, they will keep you straight.

It does look like a daunting prospect, just focus on the next exam/assignment. Don't try and cram, pace yourself, sounds obvious but the secret for me was getting some discipline into study, which wasn't easy. Once the routine is established, you need to be a bit selfish and keep negitiating with family and friends, when what they want to do clashes with what you have to do at the weekend.

Hope it helps

Thanks Paudit - it's good to know people can survive!

I'm just about to start the second semester and I plan to be much more organised for these modules. I waas a bit last minute for the last ones and it showed in the exam!!

I am after some advice as to whether or not to do this course. I have the Nebosh Cert and have passed two of the four Diploma units, awaiting to sit the last two exams. I have had three refers now for two units and am wondering how much longer to pursue the Dip for but am also wanting to keep my options open to doing other courses that will get me my Grad IOSH and eventually CMIOSH.

Ultimately I would like to be a consultant and am thinking the PGC in H&S Management would stand me in good stead for going down the consultant route?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

If I was engaging with a consultant the pre requisite would be chartered membership of IOSH, I wouldn't be too fussed if they held a post grad or other qualification. I would be looking for practical hands on evidence they are competent to carry out the task for me effectively.
