New to the forums? A tip to get you started...
New to the forums and don't know where to start?
Not really sure what to say on your first post?
It's easy, why not tell us a little about yourself, you may be surprised at how much you have in common with many of the forum members.
Here's a suggestion to get your first topic or post started.
1. if you like, tell us your first name, not necessarily your user name
2. let us know which industry you are in and how long have you been involved
3. give a brief outline of your background
4. where are you based, i.e. Scotland, Ireland, the Midlands, the South, Wales....etc
5. it's nice to be nice. Saying thank you to people taking the time and responding to your question is pretty much all people ask for in return, it's not much, it's free and it's surprising how many people actually don't say thank you these days
None of the information above needs to be specific at all and it is completely voluntary. It might just help you get started
Here's a short video guide showing you how to create your first topic - http://www.healthandsafetytips.co.uk/Do ... orums.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Glad to have you with us

Hey cwaddell,
Welcome to the forums
It can be really difficult to keep going after a blow with exam results, but hats off to you for picking yourself up and tackling the exams again. Just think, in a few years time when you look back on your achievements as a safety pro, you will realise the exams were a challenge and you did it, then you went on to help save lives!
That's what it's all about at the end of the day
Glad to have you with us.

Hi andyone and Welcome. Keep doing past papers and that will get you into the NEBOSH way of answering. I am sure you will do better than you think when the time comes. Good luck.

Re: New to the forums? A tip to get you started...
Hi all
My name is Mark and I work in the the air ventilation industry covering areas such as dust and fume extraction, high pressured vaccuum systems, acoustic enclosures and general air supply and extraction ducts plus much more. I work on a sub-contract basis so in times of little or no work I have designed and fitted decking, plumbed kitchens and bathrooms, cover a small amount of pipe-fitting, tiling and more general building works. I first started as an Air Duct Installer 10 years ago with a small gap when I worked in a nightclub during my early 20's.
I have been looking for a change in direction for my career for a while now as I seem to always be travelling sideways and never up in my current 'hands on' situation' (I need to buy a new house just to store my tools!!).
After a funny 5 minutes and a complete waste of money on a Computeach course I have found H&S, and what a minefield of different area's and directions there are under that one heading!
Even though I have now found H&S and believe this to be an area which is able to offer me what I seek from a career, I now have the task of researching the different area's of H&S. This is not going to be quick!
Any advise and/or help from anyone will be greatly appreciated.
Mark
