Safety Glasses

Post by RobB »

We are getting prescription safety glasses for our workforce, and have been for years. It seems the lenses are CR39. Is this suitable. I have googled, but lots of info to wade through, though someone here would probably know.

We are in a engineering environment, with hot metal forging, and machine shops and toolrooms etc.

I work in manufacturing / engineering - are there flying parts from the tools you use? Instead of glasses we use face shields as we feel they offer better protection , we used to get a couple of eye injuries (nothing serious) where shards managed to get up the sides or underneath the glasses.
