Re: My practice at a Practical report, incl feedback (REVISO
Thanks Nick and Alexis.
I was going to concentrate on the highest uncontrolled risks so glad to read this.
I've got the marking sheet but it doesn't give you any indication other than the quality of interpretations, breaches of legislation (5 which I have) and persuasiveness / conciseness / technical content.
thanks a lot

Glad it helped Nikop
Also take note of the marks awarded for the observation list as you gain lots for this, so make sure you observations/ hazards are not repeated and you get 25 - 30 down their (guidance on this may have changed from 2010 - 2012.
Also when it comes to the action table at the end of your report, make sure you put a cost for EVERYTHING. Nothing is done without a cost, so even if the cost isn't for a physical control, it would be cost for X hours to write procedure by H&S team at £X per hour and so on...

In the recommendations do I do one for everything in my objections list or just for the ones in the report?

Your recommendations should include the ones in your report, listing them from High priorities, Medium and medium to low, but listing the individual things you saw in your observations - for instance: your Fire Section - the fire door obstruction. The recommendation is that the fire door should remain free from obstruction and the Likely resource implications should be to remove the obstruction you found in your observation and add signage to ensure it remains clear in future.heller792 wrote:In the recommendations do I do one for everything in my objections list or just for the ones in the report?

Its been a while and the rules have changed since I took my exams but if I recall, mine was about 5-7 pages as we only had 60-90 minutes to write the report from scratch

Re: My practice at a Practical report, incl feedback (REVISO
Hi Steve
Have you been to the 'Guidance to existing Students' (for your qualification) on the NEBOSH website?
It's quite comprehensive and your Provider should have given you a copy or directed you to the pdf version.
There is not limit to the size of the 'submission', bearing in mind that the whole submission includes your Observation Sheets, but the guidance states the 'Report' should be between 700 and 1000 words.
I'm guessing you have far exceeded that.
