Morning all,
I'm in 2 minds on this, hence the question below, if this should be classed as Lost Time Injury
IP carry's out a manual handling task on Wednesday, strains their elbow but does not realise or report at the time.
IP comes in on Thursday and cannot straighten arm fully and cannot lift item from previous day. IP reports this as an accident. IP sent off site to get it checked at minor injuries.
IP does not come to work on the Friday.
IP returns to work on Monday with elbow still a little sore.
Would you class as a lost time injury?
Regards
BS

Why did they not come to work on Friday? Due to the injury? If so I would count is lost time. If it was for some other reason, then maybe not.

Seems pretty clearly a lost time injury to me. The fact that the symptoms didn't really kick in until later is irrelevant.
We often think that when we have completed our study of one we know all about two, because 'two' is 'one and one.' We forget that we still have to make a study of 'and.'
