ISO 45001 - Nonconformity & Corrective Actions

Post by SLindley »

../. Its been a while since I have been on here,

Can anyone point me in the right direction in regards to the following:-

The company I work for are going for ISO 45001, we currently have a database to log any internal audits and the actions that arise from that with appropriate timescales for close of that action. And for accident investigations we have a section on the form for preventative measure for actions to be addressed to mitigate future happening such as TBT's, training and ladder replacement etc.

Would this satisfy the criteria of ISO 45001 as how we conform to "Nonconformity & Corrective Action" or would I need to duplicate all of that onto templates which I have (Noneconformity & Corrective Action Log / and action Report) could I just use these for management system audits for both internal or external ? can anybody point me in the right direction so I do not overburden myself with duplication and a top heavy system of documentation.
.scratch
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Morning SLindley

On my 45001 system I use my accident investigation form as a joint corrective action form. I didn't see the need to duplicate information as the CAR and accident investigation process are the same.#

From what you have told me you seem to be adhering to the requirements of 45001 i.e. you are collecting NC data, analysing it then performing root cause analysis to prevent further occurrence.

I always would say keep it simple, less is often more with regard to ISO systems.

Kind regards

Thank you,

Sometimes you just need to here it from another practitioner and I have been over thinking it.

Thank you for the clarity and reassurance.

Hi SLindley,

Make sure that you have a way of recording what the effectiveness of a corrective action is. For instance, you revisit the corrective action in 1 month time to verify the reason for putting it in place and if it has had an impact.

Hi SLindley

I'm currently in the process of reviewing how we record our audits and the action corrective action, currently we're quite old fashioned that the report is typed up on a word document, printed and gets signed by relevant people. The corrective action and date is then put in our Outlook calendar.

I'd be interested to see how it is you record yours as I feel our process could be A LOT better but not too sure how to do this?

Many thanks
Lauren

The term non-conformity doesn't just mean actions found during audits. It can be any deviations from your documented systems.
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?
