Hi there,
Just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction for some advice please. I am after some guidance in respect of flammable liquids and storage on Construction sites, which are close to live occupied areas, not part of the site.
Is HSG140 the best point of information, or is anyone else aware of any other guidance?
The main concern is that even if the flammable liquids are stored correctly within the site, what impact could be done should a fire occur external of the site, local to the flammable substances.
Hopefully that makes sense!!
Many thanks all.

Re: Flammable Liquids
The amount and type of fuel will be a deciding factor on the guidance required.
The guidance I use when conducting fire risk assessments at fuel depots are:
Oil storage regs
SN71 - Petrol storage & use
L138 - DSEAR
HSG 176 - Bulk storage tanks (above & below ground)
and of course, the RRO regulatory reform order (fire safety) regs
Is it a remote metal cabinet holding 5-litres of Stihl saw petrol.
Or a 1,000-litre Kerosene tank next to a primary school or residential care home.
