I hope someone can help me here.
Let's say a medium sized company purchases a petrol powered machine. How would they cover this in a risk assessment? What legislation would cover this? I know The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 required for machinery to be suitable for the purpose for which it is used or provided. But a risk assessment isn't as I understand a requirement of these regulations. I am new to Health and Safety so forgive me if it's a stupid question. Thank you.

Re: A neww machine hazard
Can you tell us what the machine is and the power factor?
Indoors or outdoors?
How many operators?
