Re: Expected but disappointed
No you have to book the exam direct with the provider. Where are you and ill tell you whats close and soon.CAD wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 10:50 amThank Paul. I am going to look around to see where I can book cheaper. The course provider hasn't got an exam until November and i'd ideally want to resit before that.PaulDonaldson wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 10:43 am
CAD
First of all dont give up. You are so close and you only have one to concentrate on now. Secondly I hate providers that rip you off. I know what they do and to charge an admin fee is nonsense, if you are anywhere near us then you can sit for just the exam fee.
Paul
I've had a quick look, but do NEBOSH allow you to book exams with them directly?
Thanks again

Ideally i'd like something towards the end of July to give me a few weeks to revise etc. but I am flexible really.

Re: Expected but disappointed
Hi CAd
Really sorry to hear this. My advice would be to not give up at all. you have come this far and i think with a bit more revision and using the downloads on this website (which helped me a lot) you can do this.
Don't lose faith in yourself as when you do this, you lose the battle and the will to go on.
Also, look on the NEBOSH website and download and read the examiners reports as this helped me in preparation to see what the examiners are looking for.
I really feel for you having a boss who is clearly on a power trip "i am funding your course so i expect nothing less than a distinction" really is the attitude of a person who should not be anywhere near management, talk about a morale killer. I feel they should be supportive of you and a pass is a pass after all and you still get the general certificate no matter if it is pass, credit or distinction.
Main thing is, you did not fail, you obviously showed extensive knowledge in some areas to get 40%.
Always use the forums as well if you are stuck and need to ask anything you have trouble understanding as there are really dedicated people on here who give up their time of day to help us health and safety beginners.
Go take the resit and show what you can do. Perseverance is your friend.

Re: Expected but disappointed
Don't give up Cad.
I had a referral on 40% and just passed on 57%.
I passed GC2 by 47 and the practical by 64. Did all 3 in a fortnight, massive nerves as I'm not particularly academic and I'm 61!
Follow Alexie's advice above, Time yourself in loads of hour exams 5 - 6 questions.
Use a digital recorder to listen and listen to revision questions.
You'll get there and feel Great when you do.
PS mu line manager mentioned 'Distinctions' I laughed and said "I don't think so".

Re: Expected but disappointed
Does this not then bring up the question of the competency of the people marking the papers?
Whilst I am happy for corn dogs result, the original marker must have been having a bad day for a 17% difference??
Think of how many poor referrals decided not to go for a remark and may have missed out.
Seems a bit unfair.

Fantastic CAD!CAD wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 7:53 am Got my other results this morning (NEBOSH work early don't they?).
GC2 60 and GC3 72. Chuffed with both of those and ironically leaves me 7 off a credit and 5 off a pass on NCG1, so weight is definitely behind going down the resit now.
My manager was really nice about me missing out and suggested I wait until I get my other results. So i'm going to chat with him (hopefully soon) to look at next steps.
I think a resit is a good idea going by these results. Good luck.
