Sounds like you feel positive about the first exam even though you could've found some more marks.

How did your second week and exam go?

We see it more often than not on here where we tend to think we've done worse than we actually have during the exams. I'd guess you have done better than you think, especially if you have put the work in ;) .salut

All the best for your practical and thanks for sharing your reflection on your exams. Readers of the forums will take some comfort that others feel the same way.

Practical, then put it all behind you. Now't else you can do about it until the results come in.

Good afternoon,

People really do get het up about these Nebosh command words.
In a nutshell there are 4 types of command words.
If you answer the question that is asked (that is very key to getting points on board) and you include the key words that the examiner is looking for then you will get the marks.
Look at how many points each question is worth. If the question is 2 points then you won't need to write a full page for the 2 points. It would be covered in a paragraph.
8 points can be given for 8 single words on an answer if its an identify question! (try to always give more than just the 8 words as you could duplicate words or give the same answer twice and you'll only get the one mark and miss out on points)
Outline is slightly longer. (at least a sentence or two)
Describe would be more detailed than an outline........etc.
If you go off on a tangent and answer what you think is what the question is asking, then you will not get many marks.
My suggestion is read the question and set off with your answer and then read it again so far into the question to ensure that you don't get sidetracked.

Good luck..................SS

Action verbs is always a hot topic.
The only way to answer the question is to follow the guidance given by NEBOSH in the following document.
https://www.nebosh.org.uk/qualification ... #resources
It gives examples of the 5 action verbs and how to answer them.
Follow this you wont go far wrong
If you do what you always done, you will get what you always got.
