Hospital Boy

Post by hammer1 »

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Have received some sad news that an old poster, Hospital Boy sadly passed away a while back :(, did some work for him in the past as well as had many discussions via this site and he used to be an active contributor.

I have heard this sad news via an old colleague at NHS where he was their fire manager for a while.

Thoughts are with his family and friends :( :(

Wow. I am sorry to hear that and thank you for posting this sad news Hammer
I met him a few times, shared the odd pint and did a little bit of work thru him for his hospital trust.

An absolute gentleman and really nice guy. 🙁

Oh! I'm stunned and so very sad to hear this news.

Sincere thoughts are with Steve's family and friends at this very sad time.

This full of mischief HSfB family member joined us in 2009 with his "Good Moaning" catchphrase in our morning threads.

Steve helped so many of our members both online and offline.

He will be missed.

God rest his wee soul. bighug

Thank you for letting us know Hammer. .salut

That's sad news indeed. He was quite prolific in the Good Morning Forum and then suddenly stopped last year.
I'm pretty sure we exchanged PM s on occasions over the years, having joined around the same time.

If his account stays active, I guess we will in effect have 'Retired his Username' as a tribute. .salut

Yeah, a real shame. He was a friend and colleague of mine from 2008 - then when I changed jobs, as a contractor, I worked alongside him a number of times after that, and like others, lost touch with him last year. I didn't know he had died so thanks for posting that. He had some tough times - a bilateral amputee below both knees due to his diabetes - but that never stopped him getting around on titanium prosthetics. Other than having to get them changed at times, I never knew him take a day off sick when I worked with him.
It's a real shame. He had recently started a new relationship and that was obviously cut short. Not just that, but he was a highly knowledgeable and professional fire manager - really good trainer and knew his stuff. Will miss him as a friend and colleague.
