homework questions

Post by Gringo1972 »

Well that is the first 5 days done of my nebosh course and my head is bussing ....

just want to get a heads up to make sure im going in the right direction with 1 of my questions, This is a 6 pointer so can anyone tell me if i have missed anything out .

here we go....

1) An employee was seriously injured while operating a machine having disabled an interlocking device. The accident was properly reported to the enforcing authority and the HSE inspector has arrived to investigate the accident.

iii) The answer requires an "Outline" response asking what action management can take to ensure there is no repercussions of similar type accidents.

Management may look at there safety management system and there risk assessments to see that everything possible was done to prevent the incident.
They will also look into, Information, instruction, training & supervision.
Is the information & instruction given to the employees suitable & sufficient. They may need to provide more in the future.
They may also put all personnel who use the machine through more training to prevent any further incidents.
Put a restriction on use of the machine to only fully competent personnel to use or provide better supervision of the machine for people not so fully competent.
Also to look into the maintenance records to make sure it is being checked regularly.

Cheers folks any input is fully apreciated.

just thought of another myself...

The managment may want to dicipline heavily as to deter any other employees removing the interlocking device.

   clapclap clapclap clapclap

Just a little reminder (perhaps you didn't know), that we can't put the actual NEBOSH question in here as they are copyright, so if you could, in the future, when talking to yourself in our little forums  change the wording a bit so that we don't break any copyright laws. .salut

I have changed this one for you. ;)

You gave me a good laugh anyway. Sorry I wasn't in when you were needing a hand. :D
