Phil, I have been away from the forums recently and so I have only just read your post.
I am so sorry to hear about your troubles and the effect they are having on you and your wife. :(

I am not sure that I can offer anything much apart from thoughts, best wishes and prayers.

I do hope that you manage to get something sorted out.

Thoughts are with you, please do keep us posted as you get any news - we are all here to do what we can for you.

Greetings all.

I've not been near the forums for a long time but its time for an update.

On the house front good news. After some serious wrangling and counteracting of some devious slipping and sliding tactics by the insurance company it now looks like they will be paying for at least part of the repair work. I'm still going to have to find quite a sum of cash but at least we have somewhere to live.

Since I was last on things at work have gone totally pear shaped. One of our major customers is taking most work in house and best part of the staff, not including me, are being TUPE'd across. This leaves about ten of us with the company and contracts up for renewal so we don't even know if we have jobs. As a result of the uncertainty and the insurance problems I have had five weeks off with stress/anxiety but I'm back now albeit full of tablets and with my confidence severely battered hence I've been shying away from anything with any degree of responsibility which includes getting involved in safety discussions on these forums.

Its not just me who has been off with stress and most of my workmates are showing signs that things are getting to them.

I'm taking one day at a time and hopefully in the next few weeks the work situation will become clearer and I may start to build up the confidence to start mixing it with the big guns back on here.

Stay happy everyone.

Phil :)
