With this training, will we be considered competent for implementation of a SMS? By one of the UKAS accreditation bodies?
Depends on how the body could define competent i would say. At the level for doing internal audits i would say most HSE professionals do them regularly and wouldn't feel the need for any formal qual perhaps but in my opinion it just offers that higher degree of learning and dedication to improving their skill set.

That's just my opinion and i also believe in the days of competition for jobs it shows evidence of a skill / qualification to prospective employers and may be the difference between getting the job or not getting the job

I must agree @danwel.

Below the answer to my question from Auditmentor
"Good morning Joao,

Our ISO 45001 training is fully accredited by IOSH, which is the world's
biggest professional health and safety membership organisation, recognised
by organisations and businesses all over the world. When you prepare a
course, it is necessary to do so with accreditation in mind and every body
has their own set of requirements - I'e it's hard to adhere to two at the
same time. As we have an existing relationship with IOSH, and with their
pedigree, we don't feel it is necessary to seek IRCA approval as well.

If you would like any further information about the course, just let me
know.

All the best,"

Just paid for the first one and i will get cracking with it tomorrow morning. Not sure how long they take to mark the case study and give you the results but i may even do the other one this trip too or possibly wait until next trip and use them both as part of my CPD

Danwel

It took me about a week to complete the whole 45001 course.

Once I complete all 6 modules, and emailed them they sent the case study the same day.

It took me about 1/2 - 3/4 of a day to complete the case study and submit.

They then emailed me about 14 days later to tell me I got 100% in the case study and a total of 90% in the 6 modules, so a course average of 95%.

They then have to send all results etc to IOSH (awarding body) and when they receive my certificate they will send it out and they have ear-marked (via email) an additional 10 - 14 days for this to happen.

Summary:
  • 28 Jan - Sign Up
    03 Feb - finish modules
04 Feb - Receive Case Study
05 Feb - Submit Case Study
    19 Feb - pass notifiaction
Still awaiting certificates, although they may be at home as I am away
Hope this helps.

If you have any questions feel free to PM ;)

Also thinking of doing the ISO 14001 course for CPD ;)

Case study was straight forward enough.

Certificate was at home when I was there over the weekend ;) ../.
