HSG17 is out of stock - Why?

Post by Ian Rienewerf »

I am having a bit of a rant here.
But it might stop you from going round and round in circles like I have.

For 6-months now, I have trying to restock HSG17 abrasive wheels to use as course material handouts.
HSE Books took my money in November-2013 (10x books = £75)
But they didn't deliver, they didn't communicate, and they didn't refund - not until I rang up to cancel the order myself.

They did the same with the Confined Spaces HSG.
It was ready for a reprint.
So it was unavailable once the old books had ran out.
The new version was re-printed, and I was charged twice for the same order.
Basically they kept the money I had paid 8-months earlier.

So what's happening to HSG17.
Nobody knows when I ring up.
If someone here has direct access to the people at HSE books could you find out when (or if) HSG17 is going to be reprinted.
It wouldn't be like this in the old H.M.S.O. days.

The HSE website still takes your money - but the book is none existent.
http://books.hse.gov.uk/hse/public/sale ... 0717617395" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They told me to ring back every now and again to check up on their stock. (tel 01787 881165)

PS - it is not practical for me to reprint the download copy - it looks too cheap n nasty on loose A4.

I know this is the long way round and a load of hassle but could you ask a local printers if they could produce something for you, after all I think I'm right in saying that the content is not subject to copyright.
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?

That's one option.

It's a shame the original suppliers can't do a short print run.
