"An Aberdeen railway turntable which is more than 100 years old has been lowered back into place after being restored."

Interesting question.
I suspect that it was necessary to watch the final alignment and possibly manually nudge it a mm or so at the end.
Looking at the lattice construction of the turntable, if it had dropped, the result would be like an old Buster Keaton movie; they stand still and it drops around them ;)

.shaking Just because they drink juice made from girders, doesn't make them as strong as the girders they think they can carry on their shoulders!

A bit shocked!

Berni - Your link made me smile for the rest of the day.

Wonder what Buster would think of health and safety. ;)
