Quality Management Systems

Post by StuartMc »

Good afternoon everyone!

I've been lurking around here for a while and soaking up some really, really useful information - these forums are a goldmine!

I'm responsible in my work (a biology/life sciences laboratory in a University) for maintaining our safety portfolio. Some of the work we do is higher risk so we have a fairly significant number of Standard Operating Procedures, COSHH and Risk Assessments, forms and information sheets etc.

These get shared with a number of Technical staff, teaching staff, external contractors, surgical training coordinators etc. so as you can imagine it can be a bit of a nightmare tracking who has read and signed what. And when changes are made following document reviews it's difficult to make sure folk have actually read the new versions.

We currently have all our documentation stored on a OneDrive account but it's subfolders in subfolders and not the most efficient way of sharing or tracking things. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a Quality Management System that might make life a bit easier? I know folk who have experience with Q-Pulse, and what the system does sounds like it would be far easier but there are quite a few different things out there. I'm totally unsure where to even begin so I figured personal recommendations would be a good start

In terms of limitations cost is obviously a huge factor and finding information on pricing is difficult so if anyone can shed any light that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Any questions about what we're looking for it to do are welcome - thanks!

Thanks for the welcome :) I've had a good hunt around already. I hoping to start on the NEBOSH General Certificate in the near future so I'm sure I'll be around if that is the case!

Whether starting the NGC or not, always happy if any part of the site is useful to anyone. :D
