Is it worth it?

Hi All,

Passed my NEBOSH Diploma Today and starting to think about next training and have always had an interest in fire safety... my question, is it worth doing this qualification now that I have my Diploma?

Although a certificate level, is the course material studied really that different from unit C ?

I also see that NGC1 if completed within 5 years is an automatic pass for the first section, I completed mine 6 years ago now.. would the diploma cover this point or would I need to retake this exam?

Many thanks for the words of wisdom in advance!

Afternoon Dwarf.
depends on what it is that you want to do with it.
I completed mine several years ago and although it was a difficult exam, more so than the general , I found the study and knowledge gained to be beneficial if nothing else.
Kind Regards
Gav Gregson

Firstly, well done on passing the Diploma.

Now, to the Question.

Well try crunching the numbers concerned.
Look at the time allocated to Fire in the Diploma, then look at the time in the Fire Certificate.
The practical FC2 is a Fire Risk assessment. Did you do one of those in the Diploma?

As to passing NGC1 6 years ago, I think you'll find your Unit A will count instead, but capped at 45%.

All the answers you require are on the NEBOSH website.

But, my view is the Dip does not cover Fire in as much detail as the dedicated Certificate, hence why I took Fire and Construction Certs after my Diploma.
