completely confused

Post by safetygal »

during my course a few weeks ago the tutor covered a few past paper questions as tutors normally do. she advised us that our answers must be exactly as NEBOSH prescribe them on their list and even if the answer we state is correct, if it is not on the NEBOSH list given to the person doing the marking it will be considered wrong therefore meaning that the marker has no leeway to deviate if he or she agrees that the person has a correct answer.

she covered two different NEBOSH past paper questions which were similar, their basis was what factors are required for an emergency procedure. on one list Fire Extinguisher checks were included and on the other list they were not. in the first instance she told us we would not receive any marks for it and then later in the day she told us that we would but it would all depend on what information NEBOSH put on their list. she looked confused and said "I don't know why NEBOSH do it"

I asked her if NEBOSH allow markers to deviate from the list if the marker knows that the answer is correct and she said no

This does not sound right to me?!

I am more stressed out taking the fire certificate exam than my diploma exams! please can you set the record straight for me so I can relax tomorrow as I know this stuff and I don't want it to be like a game of pointless!

I will not name the provider as apart from this they have been awesome
