There is no such thing as a "stupid" or "daft" health and safety question!

Re: Forum Ranks - Suggestions?
Is it still in mind to change the radioactive signs to something else? Could you have a hangman style icon. aybe a man or woman in normal clothing to start then with safety specs, building up to someone fully kitted out in protective gear, or is that a bit ambitious?
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?

Keith
Can see your way of thinking, but wouldn't that feed the H&S myth brigade?
Throw PPE at everything instead of engineeing the hazard/risk out?
Just my thoughts

Re: Forum Ranks - Suggestions?
Yeah I think your point is a valid one, but wouldn't you hope people who used the site would be better educated in the ways of H&S. I guess the thinking behind it was something that built up along with the members status. I'm not knocking the radioactive symbols, was just thinking of something which may better reflect H&S? I'm struggling to think of something which as a stand alone symbol or icon screams H&S? Or maybe ask each member to submit a picture and more and more of the picture gets revealed with the members increase in status? Or am I just making far too much work for someone here?
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?

2 points:
1. Not everyone on here is an H&S Professional (although many are) some are just here for information ans/or help. Although I am sure if they read a lot of the threads they would see our stance.
2. As for too much work, Jack is the one to ask about that.

Re: Forum Ranks - Suggestions?
I love the idea Keith.
I've searched for something safety related for months, if not years! I originally thought of hard hats as these are distinctive, but it's difficult when the image is so small.
For example, I have a 'favicon' set up for whenever somebody loads one of our pages you will see a tiny image next to our web address in your browser's address bar, but can you tell that it's a hard hat on a stand with ear muffs and a hammer?
This is the icon image....
The attached image is the favicon full size to let you see......
My point is that to create tailored rank images to the site, a good bit of graphics knowledge would be involved, which I don't have at the moment. I'm open to somebody creating our very own rank images though, so if anybody out there wants to create them, go for it!
Not looking into things too deeply, I like the idea of the PPE, just for a bit of fun.
