To develop iPhone apps:
https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and
https://developer.apple.com/library/ios ... %20Started" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And this: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios ... stall.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Indicates you need to have a Mac to develop iOS Apps (which would include those for iPhone, iPods and iPads)

You also need to have Objective-C computer language - see here:
https://developer.apple.com/library/ios ... uages.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Although you can use other languages for development, you can’t build an iOS app without Objective-C.
And https://developer.apple.com/library/ios ... ction.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40007072
Development of iOS apps requires an Intel-based Macintosh computer with the iOS SDK installed.
Plus https://developer.apple.com/library/ios ... urces.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40007072-CH6-SW2
Aside from the images and media files your app presents on screen, there are some specific resources that iOS itself requires your app to provide. The system uses these resources to determine how to present your app on the user’s home screen and, in some cases, how to facilitate interactions with other parts of the system.
So now you know ./thumbsup.. :shock: :wave:

When I started to look at this a few weeks ago, I discovered I would need a Mac to develop an app, or I would need about £2,000 for somebody to do it for me!

I thought about buying a mac book, but a cheap one is about £800.

So, I'm afraid an iphone app won't be on the cards any time soon folks :(

Hey Will, that's a great offer but I think I'd rather figure out a way of setting something up myself for this. I'm waiting on my new iphone arriving and want to get a feel for other apps for a few months before I know what I'll want in an app for HSfB.

Nice to see you again by the way :D ./thumbsup..

So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?

Unfortunately any app is off the cards at the moment, it's just way to expensive for now.

I see that this is quite an old thread, but are there Android and iPhone Apps for the forum yet?

Hi Wendolene. Sorry but we don't have any yet. Jack would love to have these tools for the site, but the expense is just too great sadly.

Hey guys,

Perhaps an alternative to a Mobile APP, would be to implement a Mobile ENVIRONMENT for the forums...

I see the forums run on the PHPBB platform, would it be worth implementing the scripts and the Styles on this link to redirect to a mobile friendly version of the forum?

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styl ... er_mobile/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
