Change of name?
Don't you think Health and Safety for All would be a more appropriate name, after all there's alot of people that use the site that are far from beginners?
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?
Re: Change of name?
Personally I'd say no. If this site had had a different name I would have been far too scared to come on here in the first place.

Re: Change of name?
Would the name Health and Safety for All not be welcoming? To be honest I can't see there being a name change after all it is a well established name and the hassle of changing it probably isn't worth it and there would be no real benefit for the site, but just a thought!
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?

What about ,"The Health and Safety Website !!!!!!!!!!!
Mind you as said when i started my NEBOSH Cert,i would have been very weary about having a good at any site that i was unsure of.
The H&S for !!!!!BEGINNERS!!!!!!! gave my that extra interest in finding out what the site was all about.

Re: Change of name?
You're all right about the Beginners bit. It was intended to help people on the first rung of the H&S ladder and not for one moment did Jack think it would end up as it has with all you lovely people from the beginning to the super professional all helping each other.
Jack just wanted to help by putting his study material where others may be able to benefit from it as he had a real tough time finding information when he started out as a H&S complete novice.
Little did he know eh!!
Jack will come in I am sure with reasons to keep it as it is, but always good to look at anything new Keith which could benefit everyone.

Re: Change of name?
This has been suggested and discussed a few times over the years Keith and it has been decided that the name stays
A post which includes the 'debate' -

This is a comment I made over a year ago and I think it still holds up today....
Thanks very much for the suggestion though

When I first looked for a domain name for the site and a name for the site, I wanted http://www.healthandsafety.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and/or http://www.healthandsafety.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, but they were taken and they wouldn't sell!Me wrote:Anyway, it has been debated here before if the name should be changed, and I have had conversations with people in the past on the same subject, but the site does target beginners. The amazing thing is that we have been here so long now that many of the beginners have grown into fine professionals, and you all still come back regardless! I think the name starts the ball rolling for many people, then everything simply comes full circle again...
We begin....
We progress....
We learn and grow....
We become professionals....
We help the beginners to progress, learn and grow to become professionals...
And you all still come back
Thanks very much for the suggestion though
