Principles of Health and Safety at Work - Alan St John Holt?

Post by Snoogal »

Hi guys. :D

Is anyone aware of this book? Principles of Health and Safety at Work - Alan St John Holt/Eighth Edition ;)
The link is at the bottom to the actual book ./thumbsup..

I ask as I do have a copy of it SOMEWHERE!!!, and was wondering if it would cover what I need for NEBOSH Construction NCC1 and 2 :?
I have a feeling it's in the loft, and was going to dig it out if it would be beneficial. If not, I will go ahead and purchase something else, if need be....
It may seem lazy but, you haven't seen my loft :oops:

Hi you!! :lol:

Bringing this one back again to see if anyone can offer any thoughts on this book Snoogal. ./thumbsup..

I would suggest you PM YoungNick for his opinion. He has some good past posts on how he studied and I am sure he would respond to a PM from you. ./thumbsup.. (I don't usually point to individuals like this, but YoungNick won't mind on this occasion I think.)

Just come across this one :lol:

I have to be honest, i haven't heard of this one before, having a quick look on IOSH, a review mentioned that it was a good reference guide when studying the certs.

Im quite biased as i have only ever used two publisher study books which are all either from Phil Hughes, Ed Ferrett or RMS.... I would always recommend the PH and EF ones for the certs as i have used all three for NGC, NCC and FCC and have succeeded in all written papers so for me, i can't give them enough credit.

I would go out and buy this one if you can't read electronically (i get a headache after a while!) - http://www.bookdepository.com/book/9780 ... tAodIhgA6w" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ohh.... Like i have already mentioned thou C, the free downloads from HSfB i have shown you are invaluable when it comes to reinforcing the elements covered in the study books etc. sometimes it just takes another persons interpretation and written method/ powerpoint to make a topic click.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

A big thank you to all the members here at HSfB.

I have not read that book. But, now I wish to read that book. As I have entered in the field of health and safety means in the construction work. I will gain some knowledge after reading that book.

Melanie, you seem to be posting a lot in old topics. It would be nice if you went to our Introduce Yourself area and provided a short overview of yourself?
