CONFUSED????? Please read this quick question

Post by Snoogal »

OK, so I did my NEBOSH general in 2013, and am about to enrol on my NEBOSH Construction, and then I'm told there is not enough people on the course

Ok, so I look into home study/e learning, and I've just been told by the guy selling me the course, I only have to do the NCC1 due to the fact that I did my general within a 5 year period????? :?

Is this true? Can someone confirm this on here, as you guys seem to know your stuff more than anyone else out there clapclap

Please advise .salut

This is not true! What he should have told you is that you DO NOT have to take your NCC1, only 2 and 3.

The NCC1 is the Management paper which you have done in your NGC, but the NCC 2 and 3 are specific to the Construction side of H&S, so those will have to be done.

Check out a few Providers Snoogal as their prices can vary quite a bit. ;)

Right Snoogal, just to confuse us all even more......

Look at YounNick's and Whitehall's posts. They seem to say it all.

The terminology of NGC1 & NCC1 is where the confusion lies. ./thumbsup..

Blimey, that's all confusing to read!

Alexis has got it right with all those links, but to spell it out briefly...

The National General Certificate Unit 1 (NGC1), the Management of health and safety unit, is common to all three NEBOSH H&S Certificate qualifications.

Then each of them has it's own second specialist paper, plus a practical.

So the NGC consists of NGC1, NGC2 and NGC3.

The Construction and Fire qualifications consist of the same NGC1, but respectively also need their specialist question paper and practical.

So the Construction requires NGC1 plus NCC 1 and NCC 2.

The Fire requires NGC1 plus FC 1 and FC 2.

NEBOSH could make life simpler by explaining it more clearly on their website, for each certificate, but there is an inconsistency in composition/style across their web pages.

This explanatory note appears on the FIRE Certificate pages, but for some unfathomably reason doesn't appear on the Construction or General pages! .compress
Students who have already passed NGC1 as part of a previous NEBOSH qualification do not need to re- take NGC1, provided it was achieved within the last 5 years. If you achieved NGC1 more than 5 years ago, you may re-sit the examination without needing to attend a taught course.
I hope that helps everyone!
