What a Relief
I have been undergoing a few cancer related tests recently, which has been a little tough going stress-wise
The good news is that I found out on Monday that everything is OK, and other than routine check ups and scans, I can put this worrying episode behind me now
This news came as a huge surprise to Mrs Messy who knew absolutely nothing about the tests. I wanted to prevent a huge fuss being made by her and other anxious family and friends, so I decided to keep it very quiet. We also had been on a short break recently and didn't want her making a big fuss if I had an unrelated ache, if I took a paracetamol or enjoyed a beer (you know what wives are like )
The unexpected downside of keeping it all to myself is that I had nobody to share the good news with!!! Oddly, my reaction wasn't to jump up and down in celebration, but instead I became instantly & absolutely exhausted to the point I could hardly stand, function or make any sense. I yawned about 80 times in the 15 min cab ride home, before explaining all to a bewildered and very cross wife and going to bed to sleep for a few hours.
So excuse me if I don't give a monkeys if it's going to rain all Easter weekend - as I will be having a good one whatever the weather

Re: What a Relief
Nice one Messy.
Glad they have given you the all clear.
I know exactly what you mean about the 'relief' hitting you as exhaustion, rather than elation as you might expect.

Re: What a Relief
For goodness sake Messy!! You could have confided in us. We would never have let the cat out of the bag.
So pleased and relieved for you that all is well, but what a numpty not to tell Mrs M!
What a very very unselfish thing to do.

Wow, how you managed to keep that to yourself is pretty amazing. Completely understand why you've done it though.
Glad to hear everything is ok.

I'm so pleased that it was good news Messy. What a relief.
You are only a millimetre or a millisecond away from the next incident.
