Re: Back pain
Hi all
Thought I would update you all, main pain I had beforeoperation all gone which is fantastic but been having a lot of pain in lower calf muscle and in big toe, saw surgeon last week and he feels that the disc above the one operated on is damaged. MRI scan done yesterday and awaiting results to see what we can do as a way forward.
Most upset as surgeon advised against all contact sports and competative sports, as I love playing hockey and squash getting the feeling Im going to have to retire and find somethign new to take part in. Ive played hockey for just under 30 years so its going to be tough and think Ill miss the banter the most but no point injuring self for 70 min of fun and banter
Will keep you all posted

Re: Back pain
Good to hear the terrible pain has gone Penners and hopefully they can do something with the other difficulties you are having.
As for the sport, there are other competitive sports you could take up that don't have the contact. Maybe something like table tennis, or swimming etc.
Take care of yourself.

Re: Back pain
Glad to hear you are on the mend, and the worst has gone
As Sandra says, lets hope they can sort out the other bit and you can find a new hobby.
I too miss hockey, I played for about 20 years in and out of the army but as I keep travelling cant get in any team.

Re: Back pain
I've just kind of stumbled across this thread, how's the progress going Penners?
Hopefully you can carry on with the squash and hockey but it might be worth considering giving cycling a bash as it's low impact and in my opinion at least quite enjoyable.
