What a post! And what a journey. You tell a good story Alexis.

I am glad you came across some of the caring nurses. I know we haven't seen too many in my dealings with hospitals, mainly because they enver seem to have the time to stop. Although those in the hospice where my father was were second to none and couldn't do enough for you.

I hope you will be back to full strength very soon. Maybe you should write a book, it would be a bloomin good read.

Take it easy and enjoy the pampering.

Hi Alexis - really great to hear you are recovering. But a word to the wise if I may?
Make sure you are fully recovered before you apply for holiday insurance - the price now may set you back a bit !!

Take it easy and look at life from a different perspective - funny how things ;ook different after what you came through

Best wishes

Dave

Hey Tartan Legend,

You're supposed to be taking it easy not writing essays.
Good to have you back(ish).

Jack,

Bully her into taking it easy or tell her it's back to Colditz hospital for her.

Take Care

Many thanks to you too Dave. :D I was warned by the heart lady in the hospital about the holiday insurance thing. Seemingly the BHF are trying to have some legislation put in place to stop this practise.

As you say, life is viewed completely differently now for sure. :)

Dear Mrs Leg-End

If you don't take things easy I may have to come and stay ...and I will expect you to cook, clean, wash and iron things while I just sit around resting on your behalf, so there. :P
On pain of me visiting ...will you now behave and take a well-deserved rest. We're perfectly able to make a right hash of things while you're getting better just to give you stuff to do when you come back fit and well. :)

(right folks ..while she's resting, we can swear as much as we like - I know I'm going to ...)

Finding Baskets & Fork Lift ...Brady Hall!!

...Bigger ...how does she do that? .scratch Not a Leg End for nothing I guess

I've just read your essay Alexis and it makes very interesting reading especially with my other half being a nurse! She has just made the switch from working in a ward to working in the community and I think it's even more important there that the social side of the service is not forgotten. It is sad but true that for some of the elderly patients she will attend to in the community she will be their only visitor from week to week and their only interraction witht he outside world. My other half does ofcourse tell me that she gives her patients time and care and I natrually believe her, after all she must have something of a saint about her to put up with me on a daily basis!
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?

jonsi - I will obey!! The very thought of you visiting me could easily set me back.

Keith - I have many stories about care of the Elderly in the community. It's good to know there is someone like your wee wife out there putting the "care" as priority. :D

SG - Thank you for your concern. I appreciate all these kindnesses. :D

A little trip in another ambulance yesterday as a precaution after I called our surgery just for a little advice! Completely un-necessary and using an ambulance that someone else may have needed. I do wish communication from one to another would be implemented.

Hi Alexis,

Good to see you back on the forum  - but don't forget to take it nice and easy.
