I feel like an idiot!!!

Post by Stevie67 »

Went to rugby training last wednesday and proceeded to doslocate my shoulder and fracture my upper arm as well !!!!
If i had a pound for every time someone said " youre too old for that nonsense " i would be a rich man
Still, gives me time to catch up on my H&S in the office. Will take some time though with my one finger, left hand typing :D

Poor you Stevie! :laughing6:

As for the too old bit........rubbish!! Never an idiot when you can play so hard (like a 19 year old) that you break bones.

Hope you will soon be all better and ready to go break a leg or two next time......not. ;)

My rugby career was cruelly cut short by an unfortunate lack of ability.

Steve,

Sorry to hear of your troubles, there are plenty of other sports to choose from, if it has to be physical then try water-polo.
Noses, jaws, ribs can get fractured and teeth lost but I played till last year when I was 64 and tore my right bicep tendon when somebody kicked it (hard).
My specialist says he won't be able to fix it if it goes again so my wife has finally put her foot down and said no more.
I played squash till I was 55 then my knees gave out, I will still windsurf and am going to learn to kitesurf when I get the all clear from my specialist that the bicep will take the strain.

So take heart, recover and then find another way of sorting out your aggression with a friendly pint afterwards.
