Hydraulic equipment storage

Post by af1 » Thu Oct 05, 2017 11:52 am

Hi all

Could someone please give me some advice on storing Hydraulic equipment that will satisfy ISO 14001 auditors. We have some heavy pumps that require to be moved by pallet truck / forklift. Due to the company being a repair shop their are up to 50 of these on the floor which have hydraulic oil in them that can leak on to the floor. There is not a lot of space in the area so was wondering if anyone has experience of this or any ideas to help us get these off the floor and containing the oil. Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Thank you in advance

Why not get some pallet bunds?
Just do an internet search. They can be costly but could be a good solution for the leaking items.

One of our hydraulics suppliers has a dry assembly area and when testing or filling with oil they move to an area with a grated floor. Any oil spilt goes through the grate into the concrete bund underneath.

Neither are particularly cheap but option non the less
