Has anyone installed iOS 5 yet? I have a 3GS and I'm not sure whether to install it or not?

Not quite there, but then I'm also not a slave to the hype of Apple and iPhones. There's much better value Android products available...

Get it Keith :)

Not much has changed, even thou the adverts have made out its a massive change with the OS.

There are some good handy things, wireless sync, iCloud for if you have other Apple products to place music, pictures, videos, contacts on them to.

I would do install it thou Keith, as IOS4 will soon lack on firmware.

Nick

Im going to give it a go tonight as it's not the end of the world if it takes a few attempts! I'm due a new phone soon, but I'm not sure what to get. I was hoping that Apple would repackage the 4s as I'm not a fan of the iPhone 4 looks. I might just wait for the elusive iPhone 5.

I really struggle why people spend a fortune on these iphones or other such technology. They are ridiculously expensive and what happens if you drop or damage it or it gets nicked. They just seem to be more about image than actually what people do with them.

My phone what is ever the cheapest for around £15. i do like my tech but spending £400 on a Phone just seems ridiculous.

The new operating systems don't cost anything, they are free updates from Microsoft. I paid £320 for my phone, but it is also my music player, calendar, mobile email access, camera, sat nav, alarm clock etc. I use it regularly for all of these functions. I have had if for about 2 years now. That doesnt seem that expensive to me?

Mine does that, but only cost about 15% of what you paid!

Managed to get an 'open box' - but unused AND unlocked - iPaq Data Messenger for a steal of a price ;)
It says "Press any key," where's the "any" key?

and how many of those did you own before you bought the phone. Lets face it the cameras on them are rubbish OK for snap shots but are never going to replace a proper camera (but I am a keen wildlife photographer).

Have to say there are less expensive phones that offer the functions you have listed even my cheap £15 phone has a calender (never use) holds music files (never use) alarm clock (occasional use) and connects to the web (never use). I think apple and other manufacturers have done a fantastic job of selling an item that we don't need but desire. Even 10 yr olds have iphones and you tell me that they need them.

I guess i just don't get or understand the need to spend £400 on a phone and try and justify the cost as i can use it as an alarm clock or take rubbish pictures with it to justify the price. i think i will wait a couple of years when they will cost under £100 to buy

That's a great price £420 a year to make a phone call ! and how many years are you tied in? It just seems a lot of young people not earning much money feel they need to spend the best part of £500 a year on one item. How many hours work have they had to do to pay for it. i guess if you have disposable income to burn then why not, i wonder what else you could spend £500 on may be a 2 week holiday........
