Normal service will resume ASAP
Morning all
Just to say I won't be around as much for a while as I have been a bit poorly ( NOT Covid!!) and was released from hospital under the care of a very vigilant Mrs Messy, only if I agree to a complete so-called 'bed rest'. I have agreed a compromise with my own private Prison Warden that she will allow me a little time downstairs (on the PC) as long as I drastically cut my online activities for a while.
She out now sharpening her teeth and buying a taser to control me, which has allowed me time for a short message.
I will pop by from time to time, but not often. Normal service will resume ASAP

Please take care of yourself Messy and do as your good lady advises.
Hope you're back fighting fit very soon, but don't rush things.

Anyway listen very carefully, I shall say this only once...(phew got away with that one )
Speedy recovery please

Re: Normal service will resume ASAP
Many thanks for the replies. Its been a tough few days, so they are appreciated. It might be a while before I am back to so-called normal
I had a sudden and massively severe headache and didn't feel at all well early on Friday morning. So reluctantly, I was bullied by ‘she who must be obeyed’ to A&E (she was right - but don't tell her!). I had a similar attack 16 years ago and really didn't get a full diagnosis back then .
This time the response was amazing - like a F1 team at a pitstop. I had a couple of nurses removing my shoes and socks (oddly, a reoccurring dream of mine for years!! ) whilst a sadist Doctor shone a laser (maybe just a torch!) into my very sore eyes like a James Bond villain trying to extract some official secrets from me . I quickly told him my bank account details, plus my HSFB password, and he left me in peace.
Then into a bed, poked and prodded and up into a holding ward. A CT scan followed, plus my favourite medical procedure - a lumber puncture. If the name of the procedure sounds scary, its nothing compared with being treated like a human dart board by blind nurses. Only two attempts this time before they hit the target!
Then off to the ward which is the one which is closest to the mortuary. I remember thinking how more efficient the NHS has become by thinking ahead like this!! . The start of a very long day and a dreadfully disturbed night.
In the days where MRI scanners can photograph a grain of sand size tumour in your brain, and heart surgery can be carried out remotely by robots - why on earth haven't the NHS invested in soft close pedal bins. I know its not fashionable to criticise the NHS or Nurses, but you try being in pain for 46 hrs and every time you start to drop off, CLANG - a bin lid closes like a bomb going off . It was reassuring that their PPE was being changed so often , but when you are poorly, rest is vital and I got 0 minutes.
I would of been less of a grumpy git if Mrs Messy had been allowed in to bully - sorry, support me. But of course that is definitely not allowed. I couldn't deal with mobile phone calls too well as my head hurt too much, so went without any virtual visits. A minor issue for me, but hugely upsetting one for those who were terminally ill or otherwise dying in beds around me
I am now resting full time and banned from the internet by my wife who has worrying invested in a Taser to control me. Don't worry, a friend is typing this into the forum (er… honestly ) and the timing of the post which coincides with my wife being elsewhere in the house on a conference call, is purely coincidental
