Working at Home

Post by kirstyh »

I am writing a new page for our employee handbook as we have just employed some staff who will for the majority of their time be working from home. I believe that by law the home environment in which the employee will work in must be suitable and safe for working and that extra insurance must be taken out if the employee is working from home. which particular legislation does this come under, and does it include anything else that i haven't mentioned?

The HSE have a document which details all the relevant law to homeworkers and gives example of best practice. You can download it from here;
