Monday 5th December 2016

Morning All

It comes round far too quickly.... especially when I seem to have picked up some kind of bug over the weekend. My "old, but I'll take it into work as a spare" cardigan has sat on the back of my chair since April and today is the first day I've put it on. Currently taking some dissolvable solpedeine max to try and ease the pain in my throat.

I'll crawl off quietly to the corner and hope that you all have a better Monday than me..... I blame the ignorant peeps on the public buses who insist on coughing, sneezing and spluttering without covering their mouth. I just wouldn't dare do anything like that, having been taught manners from when I was about 3 years old [smilie=smiley-faces-28.gif]

Wendo .salut

Morning all,

What a gorgeous sun rise, all orange rising over misty hills.......and me without my camera.

House has been Christmasified....... too early....but that's what I get for having an American wife I guess, lol, at least she waited until December so I should be thankful.

Body is not feeling the love again this morning, popping pain killers like sweeties at the moment, have an appointment with GP on Friday, so see what he says. I have told the missus she should trade this old classic in for a sportier go faster model but she isn't having any of it.

Wendo, hope you feel better, that's one reason I don't do public transport, plus there isn't any round my way in the first place.....

Just seen there was an old WW2 bomb found on the Moray Firth just past Findhorn, and EOD made it go bang last night.....plenty of those nasty things still around it seems.

No boss today, so Planet Rock on full to drown out the Christmas tunes coming up from the kitchen

Have a great day all .salut

Morning All

Following on with a tenuous link from Adyshaw mentioning an American wife, most of my exterior decorations are 110v, having come back from the US with me in 2010. They have been powered by a 220/110v auto-transformer which I had used to step up to power some UK equipment while over there, so it was simply a case of flicking the switch to change it to Step down for the lights....
Disaster this weekend, the cables got caught in the garage door and pulled the transformer to the ground, terminally injuring it.

Luckily this year has seen some new 220v LED lighting brought, so we've got that covered, but I still need a transformer to power the inflatables. New Transformer on the way!

Hope everyone else is having a better start to the week!

I have the day off and am spending this afternoon DIYing at thr mother in laws house. What joy!

Sorry you are feeling poorly Wendo, but take care with that soluble solpadeine. In my experience and my opinion, its a very questionable product to be buying over the counter. But perhaps thats another thread

Well this week is starting off poor for a lot of folks I know, my second chef, his father has been in and out of Harrogate Hospital all weekend, prognosis is not good, on one my porters, his wife's sister passed yesterday, one of my front of house team, four of his sons best friends were in that fire in California that's been on the news, and just heard that there has been a serious RTA on the A168 which is my route home, a car and a lorry.
Finding myself offering a lot of condolences right now, there is never a good time to loose someone you love, but I the run up to Christmas it is worse :(

Good Evening Folks.

Wendo - Take care of yourself and if your throat doesn't start to heal soon, go to the doctor! My bug has taken until today to make any decent headway and I had to get doctor involved. bighug

Tigger - Such terrible news. Very sad. bighug

Stayed off yesterday to put up decorations. Not all done yet as had a day at the shops planned to try and complete my Christmas pressie list. Exhausted! .pale

Weather has been below zero all day with freezing fog and numpties who still don't think they need any lights on their cars!

Catching up in here tonight, as I will be late in tomorrow. Around lunchtime.

Hope you are all home safe and cosy now. :coffee2:
