Risk assessment and SOPs
Looking for a simple explanation of the main difference between a risk assessment and SOP. I've been challenged as to what comes first and why? I have my own understanding but looking for some simple advice. Thanks

Re: Risk assessment and SOPs
Hi Watchy.
A very warm welcome to you on this freezy morning.
In simple terms:
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are Guidances which are documented for the routine activities required to operate the machinery.
Risk Assessments are lawful requirements. "Risk Assessment is the process used to evaluate the risk and to determine whether precautions are adequate or more should be done."
Hope this clarifies your own thoughts.
