Holy (put the at thingy in here)£&”:!?%#* results weep
Just received my unit DNI result... I passed!
No one I know in the world is awake, so I’m telling you!
I’m NEBOSH diploma done!
No. More. Study.
In 7 hours-ish my boy, my friend, my companion, my family, my cat, will go to forever sleep at 19 years a grumpy old but loved man.
I’m all tears, sorry to internet blub guys,
Hope anyone else getting results has joy.
Hermit x
PS did I say no more study.... hmm, what’s the MS, like?!

I remember the feeling I had when I found out I passed (seems like a lifetime ago) and nothing will ever take it away form you/me

Help....!!!
Firstly Hermit congratulations - I am a little bit jealous...
I am due to submit my DNI at the end of November. Happy with my progress and nearly finished. My big worry is the Harvard referencing. I have never had to do a report with referencing in before and I am worried I am doing it completely wrong.
I have tried to use the Word referencing system, and have selected the Harvard style.
Within the text of the report I have put the following as an example: (HSE, 2013) Leading health and safety at work INDG417(rev1).
The same is then also listed in the Bibliography at the end of the report, along with details if it was obtained via webpage and date accessed.
Is the above example the correct way of using a Harvard reference? Sorry if I sound stupid, but I really want to get this right and avoid loosing marks for a basic requirement.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks

This doesn't sound quite right, have a look here : https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperi ... arvard.pdf , https://library.aru.ac.uk/referencing/harvard.htm. and https://www.ukessays.com/referencing/harvard/
The same is then also listed in the Bibliography ( In the body of your written text, author and year (Adams, 2019)( page number if direct quote) in the bibliography : full reference) - at the end of the report, along with details if it was obtained via webpage and date accessed.
Bibliography given in alphabetical order.

You most certainly do not sound stupid, and referencing correctly is really difficult to learn when your new to it !! It can take me as long, to check my referencing is done properly, as writing the report, essay etc
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Have a look on internet for "Cite While You Write (CWYW)" programs, some of which are free.
I have not done the DNI, I am not sure if your tutors have specified a referencing style, what I have read here in the candidate guidance/ assignment brief : Jan 2018 : https://www.nebosh.org.uk/qualification ... #resources suggests Vancouver or Harvard as an example so looks like you have a choice.
My uni uses the Vancouver style and I find it a little easier, as you number the quote or reference (1), (2), (3) through the main text then in the bibliography (1), (2),(3) is the full reference. Not in alphabetical order, numerical
Example :
"Users of the Health and Safety for Beginners forum, often utilise information accessed via the downloads section (1), and receive updates via the forum newsletter (2).

To forum members : Is Harvard the accepted referencing style in your formal H&S work, that you present to employers, clients etc ?

Thanks Waterbaby. I thought the referencing looked wrong.
My tutor just told me to research Harvard style online - not been very helpful at all.
I had a good read through the document over the weekend so I have a lot of read ink updates to make... along with the referencing!
Thanks again for your help
