Thank you Alexis!

I've been like a dog at a window waiting for these results, so I'm glad they came out early. I chose to do the old Unit D (could not get to grips with DNI) so if I'd failed then the heat would have been on to get it done before the mandatory switch to DNI. The thought of having to start the assessment again from scratch gave me literal chills. Phew!

Thanks very much to all the HSFB people - I found digging through here a massive help with D.

Cheers everyone!!! Again I was unsure what to expect. Just missed out on credit but I don't really care! Was tough with the lack of support and guidance for Unit DNI but it licked at somepoint. Need to go for CM status now while I'm still in the frame of mind! .geek

Yes, well done for tackling DNI, ivilla!

I started DNI feeling rather lost (all the resources I'd been building up throughout the course were for D), and it only got worse from there so I decided to jump ship to Unit D, even though it made me miss the May submission date. Not sure what I would have written for DNI - even after my tutor gave me some pretty good support, I still felt it was a much more 'wooly' assignment than D. Good for you for tackling it and getting a great mark.

Hello there,

I seem to be struggling a lot with the Unit DNI.
I have in the past completed Unit D and didn't pass.

I think i have all the information i need but i can't put it in any coherent form.

I would be grateful if any of you who have already submitted and passed Unit DNI could share their work for reading purposes only.

Thanks,
Shamiha

I can't share as it is against the rules and could result in us both losing our NEBOSH qualifications. I will share my contents just to give an idea of how it was structured:

Executive summary
Introduction
Statement of intent and objectives
Methodology
Description of workplace
Role as a health and safety practitioner
Review and critical analysis
Leadership
Management
Worker involvement
Competence
Compliance
Risk profile
Evaluation of improvements
Recommendation 1
Recommendation 2
Recommendation 3
Reflection of own development
Conclusion and recommendations
Conclusion
Recommendations
Bibliography

For the review and analysis I answered each question in the guidance explaining what was in place, identifying and comparing with what should be in place as indicated by ACOPs or other standards.

Use lots of sub headings if that helps to structure your work better.

Here is what I sent to someone else:
For the intro I described the org, building activities, types of staff, visitors etc. I literally worked through the questions under each sub heading and described what we have in pace and what the expected standards are. I scored 3-4 / 5 for each and got 6/15 for risk profile (this was difficult to really define due to the nature of my organisation and the fact that I' written 2000 works for it alone and could easily have done 3-4 times that amount). The recommendations i got 6-7/10 or each. I basically followed the guidance, e.g. what it was, why I chose it, how much would it cost (time, money etc), who would benefit, how long it would take to see a benefit, what would the benefit be. I also used recent legal cases to highlight the potential cost to the org is there were any failures. i also put in actual calculations using the sentencing guideline starting point for fine minus the cost of recommendation e.g.

£240,000
- £2,500
________
£237,500 Potential net benefit

I did the whole lot in 4 weeks which was pretty intense and came out at approx 13,000 word in the end with 17 reference

Many thanks for this ivilla and for refraining from any Copyright infringement, which, (should there have been any), would not only have affected the Students (as you pointed out), but would also affect HSfB. clapclap
