NVQ Level 5 Diploma - Help please

Post by sjameson6969 »

Hi everyone!

As the title suggests I am completing my NVQ Level 5 Diploma.

I am currently on unit 503 .3 - "be able to implement risk control measures and safe systems of work in the organisation"

Is this just Method Statements? I have plenty of of those it's just when I hover over the ticks there are a number of them I am unsure that a Method Statement would cover.

Hi

Having not done the NVQ I am not 100% sure but reading the question there seems to be two parts to it, risk control measures and safe systems of work.

What do you do currently, risk assess and then put in control measures? So risk assessments (RA) and the RA process would need to be in there.

As for SSOW, there is more to this than method statements, what about:

Work procedures
Hierarchy of control
Risk assessments, noise assessment, air quality, environmental issues, fire RA etc etc
Permit to work
MSDS/COSHH Assessment
PPE

A lot of this will depend on what industry you are in as to what you do and how much depth you go into dependant on the amount of hazards and residual risk in the workplace.

As I say, I am no NVQ expert but hopefully this may put you on the right track.
