NEBOSH Diploma - Distance Learning

Post by Tigger »

Hello All

I wondered if anyone could give me advice with reference to the NEBOSH diploma. I have recently passed the NEBOSH Cert and I have got the bug for health and safety now and want to progress onto the Diploma. However, I was looking at doing it via distance learning due to work commitments does anyone have any advice on distance learning course providers. Also I have noticed that it is quite costly, unfortunately it doesn't look like my employeer will sponsor me does anyone know where and if I could apply for some sort of educational grant towards the fees?

Thanks

Hi Tigger,

I completed my Diploma via distance learning - not easy and you have to have some dicipline. But never the less very worth while. I used Integra for mine based in sunderland, not bad over all, bearing in mind i only did one day per month with them, the rest was left up to the student.

Hi Tigger
i am doing the Dip distance learning and it is hard unless you can put aside the time and make yourself work without being distracted i am using RRC in Wimbledon
if you have just done your Certificate i would suggest you get some experiance in H&S prior to starting the Dip as it is quite deep

Hi Tigger

Did you get you distance learning started? i am looking to start the diploma soon but not sure who to use, as it has to be completly distance learning, no traveling each month for a class.

Thanks

Hey Kevin,

Welcome to the forums :D

That's a really hard question to answer on any kind of forums as I'm sure you will agree. Not much help to you I'm afraid. But, the bigger organisations didn't get to be as big without doing something right ;)

Go for what's best for you and your own circumstances.

Hi aliki Kev

I would say the Blue Book is one of the most important books for the Dip. It lists all the criteria that you should know and what you need to know for the exams. Also if you can get hold of the study books by Ian Coombes they are excellent revision material and also reference material after you have completed the Dip.

Also get hold of past papers as well and also use those as key revision material and for practise answering as well.

Good luck to you and Tigger

Rochelle has answered you better than I can as I did a different diploma to the NEBOSH. We didn't use the Blue Book at all.

Hi Guys

Excuse my ignorance but what is the blue book?
At a guess are you referring to the 7th Edition Safety at Work?

Please can someone advise what and where this blue book can be sourced if your not referring to the above

The blue book is the NEBOSH Diploma syllabus guide - available from NEBOSH.
