I have just looked up the origin of that phrase above (and one my Father used to say at times), seems it may have derived from the cream that used to be on top of the bottled milk, which was deemed the best bit of the milk. (un-homogenised). Mmmmmm. Loved that!
I love all those quirky expressions.
Today would have been all about me and my garden, but not to be. Mucho rain falling from the skies with a lot more to follow, so it will be Ancestry investigations instead.
