The actual remembrance day
Morning all,
Is your workplace observing the 2 min silence today?
We will be doing our bit,
Have a great day everyone

Re: The actual remembrance day
Good morning y'all
We won't be able to shut down machines, but we will be able to hold the two minute silence I'm sure.
A big day.
Have an amazing and thoughtful day whatever you all get up to.

Good morning all
Well so much for doing Jury Service, I am not required until 11.30 this morning.
Thought I would come into work first to stop the withdrawal symptoms.

Re: The actual remembrance day
Morning all,
What are the chances, 4 alarm clocks in the house and all 4 failed to go off this morning! So a manic rush around ensued.
You all know I will be observing the 2 minutes silence, and our lass is going to insist it happens at her work, but then all the people at her company from the boss down know me very well!
Have a good one all.

Morning All,
Not quiet sure what they do here at 11am - its pretty quiet anyway so I doubt that I'd even notice the difference. Its remembering why thats the important bit.
Catch up day - filing, replying to emails - the sort of day we normally only get to dream about. No doubt someone wil ruin my plans.
Have a good one whatever you do

Re: The actual remembrance day
Good Morning All,
Whilst remembering our fallen soldiers from way back, I am sure everyone will also remember our "modern day" brave fallen soldiers and their families today.
Feeling very fluish today, but have to get better by this evening as having the pleasure of a little sleepover Grand-Daughter tonight. Hopefully she will distract her moody 15 year old Cousin from doing his utmost to annoy me.
Sun is coming out, so that's good.
Enjoy your day folks.

Re: The actual remembrance day
Was it something you said, Penfold??,
or are they taking advantage of your good nature to run the place single handed ??
11 / 11.
I will certainly observe my own silence, having my middle step son as a serving soldier in Afghanistan at present.
The lad had three of his war poetry efforts published in the Times Online on Sunday, along with other fellow serving soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Very proud of him as a family man away from his flock, and proud of his wife being in Germany on her own, waiting for his leave over Xmas, with three sons under 5 years old, hoping that Santa will bring "Dada" home safe.

Re: The actual remembrance day
Hi ya
I will be observing the silence - infact I think I am the only one that does in our office, I got the evils when observing the silence for 7/7 and 9/11 but I don't care what others think. Just as well I'm leaving eh.
Like Alexis, wish your step son a safe return Acko
