Loler inspection on new safety lanyard

Post by Jonnyboy »

Hi guys,

I just took delivery of a honeywell lanyard that I purchased from Arco.

I just want something cleared up.

The date of manufacturer is 8 months ago. Does this mean I need to get a loler test/inspection done on it as its over 6 months old?

For me I always have new equipment (including lanyards/harnesses inspected, prior to first use before adding to the register and issuing to site.

This is just 'my experience' and others may in fact tell me I have been doing it wrong all of these years

A standard approach I regularly use is to apply your business approach to the item from the date it becomes new to you. I assume you have a Certificate of Conformity with the item? So if you were to receive the item new in it's packaging today then apply a 6 month inspection requirement on it and go form there. This and every item is still subject to a visual check before use and any concerns lead to the quarantine of that item.

That's my take on it!
So when the whole world is safe..............what are we going to do then?
