Hi, I need some help, I have brain freeze......
I have calculated my AIR for 2018 using the formula of: ACCIDENT INCIDENT RATE= TOTAL NUMBER OF ACCIDENTS X 100000/NUMBER OF PERSONS EMPLOYED
I am doing the same for 2019 and 2020 and I have included all accidents as well as RIDDORS
I do have a section that is purely for RIDDORS so I would be looking at that data specifically.
How can I compare my rates against a similar industry, I am from pet food manufacturing.
I have viewed this document from the HSE: https://www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/industry/index.htm LFSILLIND – Labour Force Survey, illness by industry (.xlsx) and I'm lost.....
Can anyone explain how I can get the figures which are understandable?
The excel spreadsheet has the average in 3 years and 5 years?

I think I have found it:
https://www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/table ... htm#riddor
RIDIND - RIDDOR reported fatal and non-fatal injuries in Great Britain by detailed industry (.xlsx)
and then in that I see:
2018/19p Group 109 109 Manufacture of prepared animal feeds 73 17 56 464 108 356
https://www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/table ... htm#riddor

Re: Accident Incident Rates and Bench Marking
So the HSE Data states the following for 2018/19
Number of reported non-fatal injuries to employees - Total reported non fatal injury = 56
Rate of reported non-fatal injury per 100,000 employees - Total reported non-fatal injury = 464
am I correct in saying that the AIR is 147.75
Number of reported non-fatal injuries to employees - Total reported non fatal injury = 56
Rate of reported non-fatal injury per 100,000 employees - Total reported non-fatal injury = 464
am I correct in saying that the AIR is 147.75
