COVID-19 RIDDOR

Post by MickG »

Hi all

This just got sent to me, so I thought I'd share as I don't think I've seen it here yet....

The HSE have issued guidelines for reporting incidents to do with and of coronavirus infections,
https://www.hse.gov.uk/news/riddor-repo ... avirus.htm

There are three situations where you must report a coronavirus incident under RIDDOR:
1. an unintended incident at work has led to someone’s possible or actual exposure to coronavirus. This must be reported as a dangerous occurrence.
2. a worker has been diagnosed as having COVID 19 and there is reasonable evidence that it was caused by exposure at work. This must be reported as a case of disease.
3. a worker dies as a result of occupational exposure to coronavirus.

Hope that no one needs to refer to it....

Cheers
Mick

What would be classed as "reasonable evidence" that it was caused by exposure at work?
Do you wait until 2 or more people in your workplace test positive? If only 1 other person gets the virus there can be no clear link, it could be coincidence.

thoughts?
